This code of conduct details the types of practice required by all members of FIFE STEEL  when in contact with children or vulnerable adults.  The types of practice are categorised into good practice; practice to be avoided and practice never to be sanctioned.  Suspicions or allegations of non-compliance of the Code by a member will be dealt with through the FIFE STEEL's Disciplinary Procedure for misconduct or through Responding to a Suspicion or Allegation of Abuse against a Member of FIFE STEEL.

SENIOR COC

CODE OF CONDUCT – ADULT PLAYERS (18+ years)

 

1. I will show respect for other club members, coaches and visitors at all times.

2. I will behave sensibly and with consideration for others while at the club or representing the club.

3. I will conduct myself in a sporting manner during games and look to avoid confrontation with opposition players, coaches or spectators.

4. I will not demonstrate any unacceptable behaviour such as inappropriate aggression, foul language, spitting, etc.

5. I will follow instructions from club coaches and officials.

6. I will attend all organised training sessions or games as instructed by the coach. If I am unable to attend I will inform the coach by phone or e-mail.

7. I will promote a good image of Fife Steel Basketball Club.

8. I will be a role model for the younger members of the club to help them recognise good performance and fair play.

9. I will inform the coach of any injury that may affect my performance on-court or put me at risk of further injury.

10. I will treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, sex or ability.

11. I will respect the coaches and will not question, discuss, or confront coaches during the session. If I want to raise an issue with coaches I will do so at an agreed time and place.

12. I will meet my agreed commitment to the payment of subscription and registration fees.

 

I agree that if I fail to abide by the above code of conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:
1. Verbal warning by coach and/or club official
2.
Written warning by coach and/or club official
3. Suspension or permanent exclusion of the player from the club without refund of subscriptions.

 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT – YOUTH PLAYERS (Under 18 years)

 

1. I will show respect for other club members, coaches and visitors at all times.

2. I will behave sensibly and with consideration for others while at the club or representing the club.

3. I will conduct myself in a sporting manner during games and look to avoid confrontation with opposition players, coaches or spectators.

4. I will not demonstrate any unacceptable behaviour such as inappropriate aggression, foul language, spitting, etc.

5. I will follow instructions from club coaches and officials.

6. I will attend all organised training sessions or games as instructed by the coach. If I am unable to attend I will inform the coach by phone or e-mail.

7. I will wear suitable kit for training as advised by the coach.

8. I will promote a good image of the Fife Steel Basketball Club.

9. I will ensure my mobile phone is switched off for the duration of practice and games.

10. I will enjoy my involvement with the club and develop my basketball skills to my full potential.

 

 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS

 

1. I will support my child’s involvement and help them to enjoy basketball.

2. I will help my child recognise good performance and will encourage fair play.

3. I will never ridicule my child or another player for losing or making mistakes.

4. I will inform the coach of any injury that may affect my child.

5. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy.

6. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using foul language or gestures.

7. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, sex or ability.

8. I will respect the coaches and will not question, discuss, or confront coaches during the session. If I want to raise an issue with coaches I will do so at an agreed time and place.

9. I will meet my agreed commitment to the payment of subscription and registration fees for my child.

 

I understand that failure of my child or I to abide by the above code of conduct will result in disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:

1. Verbal warning to player and/or parent/guardian by coach and/or club official

2. Written warning to player and parent guardian by coach and/or club official

3. Suspension or permanent exclusion of the player from the club without refund of subscriptions.
